Size Matters - Make sure that you measure up !You will no doubt be bombarded with offers of roses from all manner of suppliers this Valentine's Day. Please remember that not all roses are the same, and some roses that are being sold this Valentine's, in our honest opinion, do not "measure up". The majority of the red roses we deliver are around twice as long as some these "cheap" roses (around 80cm actually) and therefore large headed. "I can buy roses far cheaper than yours" If you are being offered 12 Roses for £19.99, from either your local supermarket, department store, clothing retailer, chocolate shop, or (heaven help you) the local petrol station forecourt, our advice to you would be "don't bother !" They won't be the same as ours ! |
So, why are we so different ? Although we sell associated gifts, we specialise in one thing, flowers. Leave it to the flower experts ! We make no apologies for our product or prices, and would ask when you are comparing prices, compare the quality too. |

"There's no difference - a rose is a rose?" Really? - We would disagree Some of the (dare we say) "cheap" roses will have a very short stem, some as small as (40cm - 50cm) and by definition, a shorter stem = a smaller head. We cover this question again further down the page" |

"But I can get free delivery!" Sorry we don't think so ! After 35 years in the floristy business, we have yet to find a courier or other delivery company that delivers anything for "free". Either the delivery charge will be hidden in the price you are paying, or the quality of your flowers may suffer to pay for the cost of delivery. |
So, what about our delivery service? Yes, we do make charge for our delivery service but we are at least upfront about it! Our delivery charges are fair and based on the postcode area of the delivery address. In addition, our flowers are hand delivered by our of our experienced delivery drivers. Many online retailers send their flowers by a faceless courier with the rest of the parcels in the van - sorry that's just not our style! |

"Valentine's Day is such a rip off" Valentine's Day is celebrated on the same day worldwide, which means a huge global demand for one product, in a very short timeframe. Demand outstrips supply - and people will bid high prices to get their hands on red roses. It's not the florist or wholesaler trying to rip you off, it's simply too many people wanting too much of the same thing at the same time! Did you know that over 40 million roses - mostly red - are given on this one day in the UK alone. |
So, what can we do about it? We fully understand that not everyone has the same budget, which is why have a range of gifts from £19.99 to £ 400.00 But, with respect, if your Valentine isn't worth at least twenty quid we'd suggest that you give up the chase now 'cause it won't get any cheaper when you're married ! Make a good impression whilst you can still afford it! |

"Size Matters" There is a direct correlation between the length of the flower stem and the size of the rose head. (the longer the stem, the bigger the head)." (Guys all the women know that !) "Grading of roses comes both before and after they are harvested. When roses are graded at the flower farms, the first measurement taken is of the rose head size. Based upon that information the farm will determine how long to cut the stem. A standard short-stemmed, small-headed rose will be cheaper, but a more impressive offering such as a long-stemmed large headed rose will be more expensive.
